![]() ![]() To be clear, I didn't say fun, I said viable. You may just have to wait until the next patch (whenever that may be) before a necromancer is build is viable. ![]() The only setup I haven't tried is with dark pact and curses, but I'd rather not waste my last respec on that. I think I would call this build the "applausamancer" because you don't do anything but stand there and watch the golems fight (LOL).Īt this stage (it's the first week) I wouldn't play a necromancer at all. On the plus side the mana cost of golems are low enough that I don't have to chug potions all day. I considered running a blessed aim merc but instead went with thorns because iron maiden at least allows me to clear some enemies and I may as well build on the only mechanic that is working in the necro kit so far. Iron maiden does most of the damage from my build at this point because my golems can't hit anything because their attack rating is too low. Consequently I have 20 pts in golem mastery, 20 in fire golem, and 20 in iron maiden. If I find a fire immune I Just run away I don't have a chance. The golems don't hit frequently enough (since now they have attack rating for some reason) so I've only been able to clear anything with fire golems holy fire aura (which does 450 a tick or so). I'm now level 70 and playing a 5 golem necro and only do slightly more damage. I switched over to bone to try it out and found the same situation. So, I leveled to about 55 as a poison necro (10 in poison dagger, max nova, near max desecrate) and still did very bad damage. Here's my experience with necromancers so far.
